The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is voicing its support for the “Skills for America” expansion announced by President Obama this month.
The Skills for America initiative is designed to help students graduating from career and technical education programs find better jobs while helping companies find the highly-trained entry-level workers they need.
“This is precisely what ASE, NATEF and AYES strive to achieve for the industry and the students in the NATEF-accredited training programs,” said Tim Zilke, ASE President.
NATEF is the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, which certifies training programs much like ASE certifies individuals. AYES is Automotive Youth Educational Systems, a partnership program between automakers, dealerships and secondary automotive training programs.
