How many insurer direct repair programs (DRPS) does your shop participate in?
The industry average number of DRPS that dealership and independent shops participate in essentially doubled in the past decade.
Independent shops averaged 1.9 DRPs in 2000, and three in 2010, according to CCC Information Services; dealership shops went from an average of 2.4 in 2000 to just shy of five in 2010.
But regional and national multi-shop operators (MSOs) outpaced other collision repairers in DRP growth, particularly in the last three years. MSOs averaged 2.5 DRPs in 2000; by 2010, regional MSOs averaged 6.5 DRPs and national MSOs averaged 7.7 DRPs.
