Younger drivers tend to be less satisfied with their insurer than those in other age groups, and thus more likely to be receptive to opportunities to shop for better or cheaper coverage, according to new study by consulting firm Deloitte.
Deloitte found that the vast majority of auto policyholders (88 percent) are satisfied with their current insurer. Only one in five said they get insurance quotes annually, and 25 percent said they never shop for an alternative.
But the survey found those under age 35 were the most likely to check out alternatives to their current carrier. These younger drivers are looking for such things from their insurer as various communication options, social media reputation, a user-friendly website, and mobile applications.
The survey included responses from 1,080 auto insurance policyholders.
