A new study by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners found that the economy has led 1 in 6 drivers to reduce or cancel their car insurance coverage in the past year.
The study asked about 1,000 people in April questions related to changes they’ve made to save money on car insurance. More than half had made choices in the past year that would have that effect.
Almost 40 percent, for example, said they are driving less, and 13 percent said they had gotten rid of a second car.
